The Acuity Medical Systems dry macular degeneration therapy, which is referred to as “BioCurrent Ocular Therapy”, works by restoring the normal balance of circulation, oxygen flow and enhancing disposal of metabolic waste.  The system promotes healing and recovery of eyesight by stimulating and supporting metabolic processes associated with the retina.  Although, not for everyone, if used early enough, it produces significant benefits for many macular degeneration patients. The system requires an initial visit to an eye care specialist for treatment.  You will then be given a system that is used in your home or at your hospital for an extended period of time.  Periodic checkups with your eye care specialist are required. You may also be asked to use an approved supplement to increase certain minerals and phytochemicals or vitamins in your body.
