Examples of Macular Degeneration (MD):

The likelihood that you will develop Macular Disease increases as you age.  Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the most common type of macular degeneration. As we age, our chances of developing MD increase up to 30%.  What follows are common examples of macular degeneration (MD) in their various stages and manifestations.

As Macular Degeneration progresses individuals will have slightly different degrees of visual loss. These photos illustrate a person’s view with a progressive loss over time from mild MD to moderate to severe and eventually to wet MD.
